Mauricio Chevalier retired from the Florida Department of Corrections as a Classification Officer on December 10, 2010 to pursue his passion in helping the men incarcerated become successful law-abiding citizens. Mauricio Chevalier worked at 2 different facilities during his career with the State of Florida, to include working with youth offenders, female offenders, male offenders and Mental Health Units. Mauricio Chevalier attended Iona College where he majored in Computer Electronic Science and Saint Leo University where he majored in Psychology. Mauricio Chevalier retired from the Florida Department of Corrections as a Classification Officer on December 10, 2010 to pursue his passion in helping the men incarcerated become successful law-abiding citizens. Regular visiting hours are Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM., and addition, the holidays as designated by DOC. The use of Cell Phones and Tobacco products is prohibited during Visitation. Requests for special visit must be submitted to the Assistant Director 2 weeks prior to the requested visitation date. Visitors that live out of state and are not on the approved visitor list will be subject to a background clearance through our parent institution, Marion CI. This process takes 5 business days and will be handled by the Assistant Director. On confirmation of proper identification, temporary identification cards will be issued in exchange for their valid picture. The furlough sponsor must remain in the company of the inmate for the entire duration of the furlough. The Furlough Sponsor must check in with Control room staff at departure and arrival from Furlough. Each and every furlough sponsor MUST participate in a furlough orientation prior to being approved. Please make sure your potential furlough sponsor schedules the orientation in a timely manner. Regular draws are available for personal needs, i.e. hygiene products, clothing for work, etc. If an inmate believes that there is an error in his bank account, the inmate should discuss the matter with the Case Manager who will contact the Re-Entry Center of Ocala business office to address the concern. RECO provides prisoner work release facilities and transitional services for the Florida Department of Corrections.
